Good Neighbour Awards

Recent Winners

Last year’s award winners show us that it only takes a little bit of thoughtfulness and consideration to be a good neighbour. Neighbours can really appreciate the little acts of kindness that we could all do for each other.

Everyone needs good neighbours and we'd like you to tell us about yours.

  • Have they helped you out at a time of crisis or are they a good neighbour all the time?
  • Do they help you with your garden or do the shopping for you when you can’t?
  • Perhaps they have looked after your children so you can have a break or even go to work?
  • Maybe they’ve just been there when you needed someone to talk to?

If you live on a Council estate in the borough, these awards are your chance to pay tribute to someone special, either adult or young person, whose kindness has made a real difference to your life or that of another neighbour.

Every eligible nominee will receive a certificate and winners will be chosen from each township area to receive your choice of award worth £10 (flowers, chocolates, wine or a shopping voucher).

Good Neighbour awards are made every three months.
