"My Community" Photo Competition 2009 - Meet the Winners

Locals have been showing us that a picture really does paint a thousand words.  The winners of this year’s competition received certificates and cash prizes and will see their photos used in our 2010 calendar and sent to the Touchstones archive as an historical snapshot of communities in 2009.

This year’s entries were judged by Paul Herrmann, photographer and Director of Redeye, the photography network.  Paul was impressed with this year’s entries and encourages local people to start snapping now and capture their community throughout the year in readiness for next year’s competition.

This year’s winning entries were:

	1st Prize (Adults) Krzysztof Dudon (Middleton) - Middleton Bus Station is very important place for everybody who want to travel via bus e.g. to Manchester.
	2nd Prize (Adults) – Lynda Falstaff (Smallbridge, Rochdale) - Winter's Morning in Smallbridge. A december morning, looking over Louise Gardens, from Low Hill.
	3rd prize (Adults)Tim Byrne (Kirkholt, Rochdale) – Sunflower Grown in 2008, measuring 9ft 3inches winning the Kirkholt Tenants and Residents Association annual competition for children
	Children’s prize – Freehold Playscheme – Friendship is important to all of us at Freehold. It helps us to build our community for the future
